Crouch Physio: members showcase

Lewis Crouch, Specialist MSK Physiotherapist and Clinical Director of Crouch Physio, discusses how needing physio as a child shaped his career, and how MSKPN is giving him to tools to grow.

MSKPN is a really supportive network

Being part of the group is amazing. There are lots of different personalities, everyone’s really welcoming and there’s no animosity. It’s just a lovely, supportive group where people genuinely want to help each other.

I got involved with MSKPN in March 2025
I attended a networking event and was amazed by how open people were to chat and offer advice. I learned so much from that first session. Since then, I’ve been to three more meet-and-greets and taken away so much. I usually go in with two questions I ask such as what they did when they were in my position and wanting to grow. Hearing their perspectives has really helped.

MSKPN helps me gain confidence in business decisions
As a young business owner, I struggled with the idea of raising my prices. Their suggestions to introduce a tiered system gave me the confidence to take action. As soon as I got home, I put a plan in place and we had no drop in client retention. That experience has really boosted my confidence in making business decisions.

MSKPN is giving me the tools to grow
There are lots of benefits, from an amazing network of professionals who have been in my position – just speaking to them gives a real confidence boost. I learn how other business owners set up processes and manage things logically. If I ever run into issues, I know I can turn to anyone in the group for solid advice.

Simply come to a session to see the value
My advice to others would be to experience it for yourself. Attend one of the meet-and-greets as it really opens your eyes to the conversations and the value you can gain. Last year, I was able to make the decision to join even before I knew about all the additional benefits, like the WhatsApp support.

There are lots of benefits

Network – Access to a network of incredible professionals, many of whom are in the roles I aspire to reach in a few years.

WhatsApp – Any questions I have, I can just post there.

Value for money – The annual membership fee is minimal compared to the value you get

Webinars – Covering a variety of topics every few weeks. You can talk with everyone during the session, whether it’s about increasing revenue or using AI – they’re incredibly valuable.

PMI – MSKPN is doing a lot to improve dialogue with the private medical insurers. As a profession, we’re often underpaid compared to what they reimburse.

Discounts – There are lots of member discounts on equipment and services.

I knew from an early age what I wanted to do
Both my identical twin and I had 7 foot surgeries before the age of 5 due to a condition called bilateral talipes, which at the time was commonly treated with surgery in the late 1990s.

But that didn’t stop us from pursuing an active life. I played football at academy level, which was quite demanding. During my teens I probably spent about half of each season in the physio room, which sparked my interest in physiotherapy. I geared my GCSEs and A-levels towards that path, so I was lucky to know quite early what I wanted to do.

Early experience working in mental health helped shape my career
From age 15, I gained extensive experience in mental health, volunteering and working in high-support environments with complex cases. Then prior to uni, I worked full-time in mental health, including a crisis where I had to evacuate a building after an arson incident. I studied at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2019 at 22 and knowing I didn’t want to work in a hospital setting.

“These experiences, along with early exposure to communication in challenging situations, prepared me well for professional life.”

From elite sports to my own clinic

I worked in elite sports physiotherapy, with roles at several professional football and rugby clubs, as well as in the private sector. I later joined Boost Physio, where I’m incredibly grateful to Steven for helping me grow as a professional.

After about two years, in 2021 I took the leap and started my own home practice. I invested £20,000 to set up my clinic in the garden, initially working part-time. The clinic quickly grew in popularity and eventually became the number one-rated physiotherapy clinic in Enfield.

Crouch Physio is now based in the Athletic Development Club located in the heart of Enfield and Cockfosters, Barnet. We specialise in sports injuries, post-operative rehab and pain management. We bring Premier League standard rehabilitation facilities and expertise to North London, with a team of 10 and 4 clinic rooms, as well as pitch side physio.

I really enjoy working with people who are less able

My role also includes care home visits, home visits, and supporting learning centres.
Highlights include helping a 28-year-old, who had never walked, use a gutter frame independently after two years and supporting older people to regain mobility after being chair-bound. This is the most rewarding part of being a physiotherapist – far more satisfying in some ways than working with elite athletes.
