{"id":467,"date":"2020-04-17T11:54:32","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T11:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mskpn.co.uk\/?p=467"},"modified":"2020-10-23T14:14:09","modified_gmt":"2020-10-23T14:14:09","slug":"lobbying-for-business-rates-relief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mskpn.co.uk\/our-work\/lobbying-for-business-rates-relief\/","title":{"rendered":"Lobbying for Business rates relief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Download template letters and send to your local authority, MPs, councillors and other influencers to help spread the word.<\/p>\n<p>The members of the Musculoskeletal Partners Network is calling for a <strong>rates moratorium for at least 12 months <\/strong>as has already been granted to a number of other industries.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are 80,000 physiotherapists and MSK practitioners (physios, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, sports therapists) and whilst the majority work in the NHS, a large number operate in private businesses or as sole traders.<\/li>\n<li>On Government advice, understandably, they have had to close their doors, leaving them with no income.<\/li>\n<li>These private practices, who work outside the NHS on the high street, whether large or small, have typically seen up to 90% reduction in activity &#8211; placing many physiotherapy businesses at risk of insolvency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We need everyone\u2019s help to include private physiotherapists and physiotherapy businesses in the list of businesses eligible for exemption from business rates for at least 12 months.
